Ashtapad Overseas supplies welded pipe, per ASTM A 312, ASTM A 358 or as rolled and welded. We supply common grades of stainless such as 304/304L and 316/316L in standard pipe sizes and schedules including Sch 5, Sch 10, Sch 40s and Sch 80s. We also supply more challenging stainless welded pipe requirements including 304H, 316H, 309/S, 310/S, 317/L, 321/H, 347/H, 410, 410S, Duplex 2205, Duplex 2507 and many other grades of stainless, duplex or nickel alloys.
We can even supply material with wall thicknesses up to 3" thick! Diameters sizes range from 1/8" up to 96". We specialize in quick delivery of non-standard welded pipe. We recently supplied a steel mill with 3 pieces of 11-1/2" OD x .625" Wall x 13’ Type 316/316L and delivered the product in 5 days to meet a shut-down requirement. Welded Pipe
When selecting a seamless or welded pipe, an abundance of facts should be taken into consideration.
Stainless steel pipes can be manufactured in both seamless or welded forms. The decision whether to use a seamless or welded pipe depends principally on the wall thickness / diameter ratio and the specified pipe tolerances. For the individual production of welded pipes, the raw materials can be ordered and used in precise thicknesses depending on the wall thickness calculations, which will deliberately save resources and cut costs.
Welded pipes are more advantageous for small, medium-sized and large outside diameters with wall thicknesses of between 2 and 70 mm.

Pipe Lengths and Quantities
For welded pipes, the pipe lengths can be freely selected up to 12 m or 18 m without circumferential welds. The minimum production batch for pipes made from coil depends on the length of the coil for special alloys or sizes. With production from individual steel plates, small quantities may also be provided.

COPPER TUBING & PIPES
Copper tubing is most often used for supply of hot and cold tap water, and as refrigerant line in HVAC systems. There are two basic types of copper tubing, soft copper and rigid copper. Copper tubing is joined using flare connection, compression connection, or solder. Copper offers a high level of corrosion resistance, but is becoming very costly.

Seamless pipes are in accordance with EEMUA–144, Section 1. They are manufactured from hot extruded shells followed by cold work and annealing.
Welded Pipes
Longitudinally welded pipes are in accordance with EEMUA–144, Section 2. They are manufactured from hot rolled or cold rolled and annealed sheet or plates in accordance with BS 2870, BS 2875, ASTM B171 or ASTM B402. Mechanical testing is carried out in accordance with the standards above. The pipes are supplied in “as welded” condition.

Dimensions
Dimensions are based on EEMUA –144, Tables 1.2.1-1.2.2 and 2.2.1-2.2.2. However, the pipe diameters range from ½ in./16 mm to 36 in./914 mm. Although the pipe dimensions of 38 in./965 mm and 40 in./1016 mm are not included in the EEMUA 144 – 1987 they are available on request as they are commonly specified. The corresponding wall thicknesses of the pipes comply with the pressure containment requirements of ASME B31.3 as well as the requirements of the International Association of Classification Societies. Pipes with other wall thicknesses are available on request.

Weld Preparation
For wall thickness less than 3 mm, the pipes are supplied with plain weld ends. Larger thicknesses are supplied with the weld bevel of 37 ½°±2 ½°.
Tolerances

The pipe sizes up to including 4 in./108 mm are based on BS 2871: Part 2: Table 3 for outside diameters and their tolerances to allow for the use of capillary and compression fittings and brazed (and welded) slip-on flanges. The wall thickness of the 16 bar range have been increased to match the 20 bar range for mechanical strength.

The pipe size 6 in./159 mm up to 16 in./419 mm are also based on BS 2871: Part 2: Table 3 for specified diameters but the tolerance have been applied to the inside diameters for facilitate alignment of matching weld preparations.

The ovality of the finished pipe doesn’t exceed 2% of the difference of the maximum and minimum diameter measured on the same cross section.

Up to including 4 in./108 mm, the wall thickness doesn’t vary by more than 10 % specified therein. For diameters from 6in./159 mm and larger, the wall thickness is not less than 12.5 % of the specified value.
