ASTM B622/B619 Hastelloy X Pipe contains nickel-chromium-molybdenum-tungsten alloy with niobium which makes it high strength without a strengthening heat treatment, In conditions, where the corrosion and heat resistance of steels and other metals are exhausted, high performance alloys including ASTM B622/B619 Hastelloy X Pipe become the designer’s material of choice. The alloy X Pipe is also comparatively insensitive to velocity effects and is widely used for critical components such as bubble caps or valves in contact with flowing acid. Hastelloy X Pipe retains its excellent ductility and toughness at low temperature.

Hastelloy X pipe size refers to a nominal – not actual – inside pipe diameter. Schedule refers to the Hastelloy X pipe’s wall thickness.
For example: The actual outside diameter of 1¼" pipe is 1.625"
The actual physical outside diameter is larger than it’s nominal OD. Hastelloy X Pipes accommodate larger applications with sizes that range from a half-inch to several feet.
The wall thickness of a pipe is referred to as a pipe schedule, which you can find the relevant between pipe schedule and thickness in millimeter or inch in specification ASME B36.10. The most common schedules are SCH 20,SCH 40 and SCH 80. Schedule 40 is the most common and 80 is extra heavy. Which is needed to be noted, the pipe schedule is not set for all diameters; it varies.
Hastelloy X Pipes are usually used for transporting or distributing, then the properties of pressure or straightness, roundness are strictly specified, the tolerance for pipes is more loose than tubes comparatively. Hastelloy X Pipes are used for fluids and gases, such as water, oil, gas or propane or as steam pipe, boiler pipe etc. Just because of this, the outside & inside diameter is the key measurement — it indicates how much can flow through the pipe. Connecting Hastelloy X pipes is more labor intensive as it requires welding, threading or flanges and relevant equipments. For outdoor field transporting or underground transporting, Before we export Hastelloy X pipes need to be painted or coating to anti corrosion or oxidation. Passivation is commonly used to improve the corrosion resistance of ASTM B622/B619 Hastelloy X Pipe. ASTM B622/B619 Hastelloy X Pipe Pressure and Temperature Ratings
The allowable temperature range for ASTM B622/B619 Hastelloy X Pipe may be contracted at its lower end by the hydroscopic nature of the chloride of the metal concerned; for example, iron should not be used at a temperature less than 54°F (30°C) above the HCl-H2O dew point, while copper may be used as long as the temperature is 9°F (5°C) above the dew point. In view of the hydroscopic nature of nickel chloride, it would be prudent to assume that hydrochloric acid might condense on a nickel surface at a temperature as much above the dew point as in the case of iron, i.e. 54°F (30°C).
