ASTM B622/B626 Hastelloy X Tubing contains nickel-chromium-molybdenum-tungsten alloy with niobium which makes it high strength without a strengthening heat treatment, In conditions, where the corrosion and heat resistance of steels and other metals are exhausted, high performance alloys including ASTM B622/B626 Hastelloy X Tubing become the designer’s material of choice. The alloy X Tubing is also comparatively insensitive to velocity effects and is widely used for critical components such as bubble caps or valves in contact with flowing acid. Hastelloy X Pipe retains its excellent ductility and toughness at low temperature.

ASTM B622/B626 Hastelloy X Tubing Specifications
The thickness of Hastelloy X tubing is often specified by a gauge for thinner thicknesses and for thicker Hastelloy X tubing it is indicated by fractions of an inch or millimeters. The normal range for tubing is 20 gauge, which measures .035 inch, up to a thickness of 2 inches. As per the engineers & metal experts the small-diameter tubing can present some exceptionally large challenges. Small-diameter metal medical tube fabrication is typically performed through cold-working operations, which provide dimensional and tolerance control, good surface finishes, refined grain sizes, and high mechanical strength. We supply Surface Treated ASTM B622/B626 Hastelloy X Tubing & Nickel Alloy Tubing. Oxides and embedded surface impurities may be removed by passivation. Passivation is commonly used to improve the corrosion resistance of ASTM B622/B626 Hastelloy X Tubing. Ashtapad Electropolishing can mechanically polish nickel alloys and certify finishes as low as 4 Ra micro-inches.

Workability
Hastelloy X can be forged and, because of its good ductility, can be cold-worked. It can be welded by both manual and automatic welding methods including shielded metal-arc (coated electrodes), gas tungsten-arc (TIG), and gas metal-arc (MIG). Alloy X can also be resistance-welded.
Machineability
Low cutting speeds, rigid tools and work piece, heavy equipment, ample coolant and positive feeds are general recommendations.

ASTM B622/B626 Hastelloy X Tubing Pressure and Temperature Ratings
The allowable temperature range for ASTM B622/B626 Hastelloy X Tubing may be contracted at its lower end by the hydroscopic nature of the chloride of the metal concerned; for example, iron should not be used at a temperature less than 54°F (30°C) above the HCl-H2O dew point, while copper may be used as long as the temperature is 9°F (5°C) above the dew point. In view of the hydroscopic nature of nickel chloride, it would be prudent to assume that hydrochloric acid might condense on a nickel surface at a temperature as much above the dew point as in the case of iron, i.e. 54°F (30°C).
